Ejide, Fegor, Babatunde are early arrivals in Nigeria camp

The trio of players were the first Europe-based set to land in Calabar for Saturday’s key World Cup qualifying game against Kenya

Fegor Ogude of Valerenga, Norway led the Super Eagles duo of Austin Ejide and Michael Babatunde to the camp of the Super Eagles in Calabar on Monday in preparation for the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying match against the Harambee Stars of Kenya slated for the UJ Esuene Stadium on Saturday.

Team secretary Dayo Achor Enebi told Goal.com Monday afternoon that the players have settled down at the Metropolitan Hotel camp of the Eagles in Calabar.

“The early callers are Fegor Ogude, Austin Ejide and Michael Babatunde but we are still expecting a larger number today since the Chief Coach (Stephen Keshi) has instructed that all the players with exemption of one or two players to hit Calabar [on Monday]. As I speak with you now we are already in Calabar,” Enebi disclosed.

Happy debutant Kryvbas of Ukraine defender Babatunde expressed happiness for being called up to the Eagles and vowed to do his best to make the team that would confront Kenya on Saturday.

“Once again I thank the Chief Coach for giving me this rare opportunity among thousands of qualified Nigerian footballers. I promise to make the maximum use of this opportunity if I make the cut which I am ready to fight for by the grace of God,” Babatunde told Goal.com.
