Essien: Real Madrid's confidence is high ahead of Uefa CL clash with Manchester United
The 'Bison' believes Los Blancos are poised for action going into the round of 16 of the Uefa champions league with the Red Devils
Ghana international Michael Essien says he is optimistic the Whites will beat Premier League side Manchester United on Wednesday.
Two of the biggest teams in world football Real Madrid will take on Manchester United in the round of 16 of the Uefa Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Essien, who is enjoying his loan spell from Chelsea with 11 games and a goal under his belt, will be hoping his team capitalise on their home advantage and get the needed results.
“Our confidence is high and we are looking forward to Wednesday's game against a great side like Manchester United, but we will do our best and hopefully we will win," the box-to-box midfielder told Madrid TV.
Jose Mourinho's side are undefeated in 28 of their last 31 matches in the Champions League while Sir Alex Ferguson's are unbeaten in their last 14 matches across all competitions.
