The AC Milan player whose season has been plagued with injury says he is sure of playing at the continental showpiece in South Africa
AC Milan midfielder, Sulley Muntari says he has not given up on his dreams of making Ghana’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad.
The 28-year-old has not kicked a ball this season since picking up an injury while on holidays in Accra last summer.
Muntari made a recovery last month but has still not played any match for Massimiliano Allegri’s side largely as a result of precaution.
Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah is set to name his squad for the Afcon before the end of this week and there are fears the 2010 Uefa Champions League winner will not make the cut.
But the former Inter Milan player says he is very confident of picking a spot for the continental showpiece.
“I am feeling really good and with God’s grace, I hope to be back playing with AC Milan again next week.
"I want to thank everyone for their support during this time of my comeback and assure you that I’m working really hard and intend to be fully ready to fulfill my duties for my country for the 2013 Afcon,” Muntari wrote on his personal website.
He added, “The Ghana FA have not made a firm decision yet on any players, but as far as I know I am still in strong contention for a place in the team and I can't wait to get back into the team.”
