The Senegalese midfielder claims the Elephants and the Black Stars stand tall in the build-up to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations
CFR Cluj's Senegalese midfielder, Modou Sougou, has stated that Ghana and Ivory Coast are firm favourites to lift the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa but was quick to add that the journey will not be rosy.
Sougou’s country, Senegal were prevented from making it to the continental showpiece by the Elephants.
"I think Ghana and Ivory Coast are favourites to win the cup, but there might be big surprises as Zambia did," he told Goal.com Ghana.
"Ghana in particular can win it because they have a very good team and there is no Senegal and Cameroon who could have caused problems this time around,” the 27-year-old added.
Sougou who has been a revelation for the Romanian champions, especially in the Uefa Champions League also pointed out that the Teranga Lions will bounce back soon and take their place among the elites on the continent.
