Werder Bremen-Ajax Betting Preview: Why the Dutch champions look good value for the win

With Ajax looking hugely impressive and Bremen struggling in pre-season, Phil Kitromilides believes the price of 23/20 for a Dutch win offers great value
One of the more attractive friendly fixtures taking place across Europe this weekend sees Werder Bremen take on Dutch champions Ajax.

Bet365 are streaming live what should be an entertaining encounter and price the Eredivisie title holders as favorites at 23/20 (2.15). The Germans meanwhile are offered at 7/4 (2.75) with the draw available at 11/4 (3.75).
Yet it is hard to look past a win for Frank de Boer's side who have looked ominously impressive in pre-season, scoring plenty of goals and playing with their trademark attractive flair.

Bremen, for their part, will be hoping to put their worst season in 14 years behind them, having finished 14th in the Bundesliga and generally failed to compete at the level to which their fans have become accustomed.

Yet a 1-0 defeat to third division Osnabruck followed by a 3-2 loss to Dutch side Zwolle shows Werder are yet to gel in pre-season.
Ajax have had no such problems and the price of 23/20 (2.15) for them to beat a less than impressive Bremen side looks to be extremely generous and should be taken at all costs.
