The 53-year-old hopes to see the Barca boss take to the sideline soon, and admits Saturday's clash could work in their favour
Vilanova has been absent for the majority of the season after undergoing surgery in December having suffered a relapse of his throat cancer.
Following treatment received in New York, the 44-year-old has returned to Spain this week, and the Celta coach hopes to see him in attendance on Saturday.
"From here I send all my support and tell him that his presence will be the greatest joy that I can find before the game. For all of football in general it will be a great joy to see [him] recover,” Resino told reporters.
Celta Vigo are currently lying second from bottom in La Liga and face an uphill struggle to secure safety from the drop. However, the Celta Coach believes the tie could work in his side's favour.
"Barcelona will bring a competitive side... it is certainly a good time to play them," he said.
"They come with casualties, they have played a tough match with the national team [Spain] and are in between a very important game in the Champions League."
