Sunday's televised match is far from an ordinary FA Cup tie and Jim Knight expects both sides to find the net at Stadium:mk, picking a tempting 6/4 anytime scorer selection
MK Dons were founded after Wimbledon went into administration some 10 years ago and the decision was taken to relocate them to Buckinghamshire, 56 miles away from the original club's south London base in September 2003, before renaming the team in 2004.
These circumstances prompted many Wimbledon fans to refuse to continue supporting the club and chosing to go down a different path.
Since then, MK Dons have continued to operate in the third and fourth tiers of English football while a new club, AFC Wimbledon was formed and started its footballing journey from the Combined Counties League.
They became the first club formed in the 21st century to reach the Football League when they gained promotion to League Two in 2011 and Sunday sees the first ever meeting between the two.
From a betting point of view, it is not difficult to see why the hosts are 2/5 (1.40) favourites with William Hill. They not only play a division above the visitors but have also been in sparkling form in recent weeks, winning four of their last five games in all competitions. AFC Wimbledon are made 7/1 (8.0) outsiders to get the better of the League One side and a draw is priced at 7/2 (4.50).
It appears that since the tie was confirmed, Wimbledon's form has taken somewhat of a dip. They are now without a win in three and have lost their last two, having previously beaten York City twice in both the FA Cup and the league.
Goals have been a regular of both side's games in recent weeks and that is reflected in the quote of 1/2 (1.50) from William Hill about this game containing three or more of them. Although it looks a solid selection there appears to be a better option for punters.
That better option looks to be backing both teams to score at 8/11 (1.73). Although AFC Wimbledon fans would rather refuse to acknowledge their hosts existence this game is sure to be emotionally charged for players and supporters alike.
Despite MK Dons good recent form, they have scored and conceded in their last four matches and the visitors have only failed to score twice on their travels in League Two.
For bigger odds try backing Luke Chadwick to find the net for the hosts at 6/4 (2.50). The former Manchester United midfielder has six goals to his name already this season and is their leading scorer in League One.
MK Dons have a big squad but Chadwick has been ever-present this season and is unlikely to be the subject of any squad rotation 0 at 6/4 (2.50) he offers a solid anytime goalscorer pick.
