Moura eager to join 'massive club' Paris Saint-Germain
The Brazil international is looking forward to moving to France, describing it as the chance of a lifetime, and adds his goal now is to play for his country in the World Cup
Lucas Moura has said he is ready to seize the opportunity of joining a "massive club" club like Paris Saint-German ahead of his January move to the Ligue 1 side from Sao Paulo. The 20-year old will complete his transfer to France in the New Year and said his motives behind the move were a combination of both personal dreams and career goals, both of which a club the size of PSG will contribute to.
"I have ambitions to fulfil in Europe and PSG are a massive club," he told reporters during a press conference.
"I am leaving Brazil to take up a massive opportunity for me with Paris Saint-Germain. A footballer needs to seize moments like these, you never know what tomorrow is going to bring.
"They made a good proposition to both me and Sao Paulo which allowed me to stay in Brazil for the rest of the domestic season and move in January. There are also a lot of Brazilian players at the club and they have an excellent project, these factors made me make my decision."
Moura was also upbeat about his chances of playing in the World Cup in 2014 which will be held in his homeland.
"It means a lot to Brazilian footballers that the next World Cup will be played in our country and to be part of the squad is something that I think about every day.
"I grew up watching it on television and now there is a possibility to play in a World Cup. It is getting closer and closer and I have to prove myself every day in order to help towards our quest of winning a sixth title. To do that in front of our fans is a chance of a lifetime."
