The former Brazil international has posted a farewell message on Twitter, stating that he leaves Angola with a sense of accomplishment
The experienced midfielder will soon return to Africa to continue working on the Rivaldo10 Institute, and says the country will be forever in his heart.
"It's a day to say goodbye here in Angola, but that's only in football. I'm sure Angola will always be like a second home to me. Special moments with the kids today. Thank you God for this very special year," he wrote on his official page.
The 40-year-old had previously hinted at his retirement after picking up a shoulder injury in October, leaving his future in the sport uncertain.
Rivaldo appeared 74 times for his country, scoring 34 goals.
