Made three fine first-half saves but had no chance with Zamora's goal. His stunning reaction saves from Hill and Hoilett justified his manager's faith in him.
Is a joy to watch at times but was troubled by Hoilett in the first half. Still, he won plenty of tackles in a tough half. Led the counter-attack for the second goal, carrying the ball from the halfway line before laying off to Bale. Looked solid and composed throughout and made a goal-saving tackle late in the day on Zamora.
Had a terrible opening period, looking out of ideas going forward and lax in his defending. Did improve but only marginally alongside Gallas. It was certainly the weaker side of the defence.
Didn't look entirely comfortable but is clearly seen as an important figure by Villas-Boas and, as captain, is expected to lead the side. Still looks positionally suspect, though, as age creeps up on him.
Motored up and down the right but with a lack of precision in his final ball. Has become something of a cliche, but his crossing is, by and large, very poor. Remained a threat throughout, though, and ensured Onuoha didn't get forward too often.
Oddly spent much of the first-half playing far too deep and alongside Vertonghen and Gallas. Didn't misplace too many passes but was caught in possession too often and didn't press high enough.
Largely anonymous and subbed at half-time. The jury is definitely still out on the midfielder - was his spell at Swansea just a well-timed fluke?
At times he can look like one of the classiest players to grace the club but with the lack of commitment around him he was often caught out in possession. Improved with Dempsey closer to him in the second period.
Was flagged offside on a number of occasions when it looked as though he was in on goal and aside from a lot of running about, he was working on scraps. Reacted well to Bale's effort to tap home for the second goal, though, and could have had another as Dempsey's header fell his way.
Slotting in at left-back, the Welshman had to temper his attacking instincts and that was to the detriment of Spurs. But moved to left-wing in the second period and looked inevitably more dangerous. Saw his shot saved onto the bar when faced by Julio Cesar again and also delivered the telling corner for the equaliser.
Largely anonymous in front of Bale in the first period and it was perhaps telling that Kieran Dyer kept him quiet. Moved central and behind Defoe in the second-half, looking much more comfortable. Had a 30-yard effort saved and rose well to create a great chance for Defoe. Replaced by Huddlestone.
Was colossal at the back and seemed to enjoy the challenge of proving to Spurs that they were wrong to release him last year. Should have done better with a first-half header.
Barely had a thing to do in a comfortable first half before making a decent stop from a swerving 30-yard effort from Dempsey. Did as well as he could for the second goal and made a couple of fine stops from Bale.
Was fouled in the build-up to Spurs' second goal to the frustration of Mark Hughes. Had a decent game after moving to left-back.
Looked comfortable in the first-half but was slightly more troubled in the second. Didn't use the ball as well as he might have but defended well when asked.
Was wonderful in the middle of the park, pulling the strings already for his new club. Showed fine vision, a tenacity in the challenge and was a class above anyone else in red today.
Dovetailed well with Granero and dominated the Spurs midfield in the first-half. Unfortunately had a mad moment for the Tottenham equaliser and couldn't avoid making the final touch for the own goal. His pass for the opener was sublime, though.
Played off the left and was generally impressive, getting through many-a-mile. Made his tackles, and passed well.
Escaped what looked like a clear handball shout in the second-half but was otherwise solid enough. A disciplined performance.
Was an absolute menace in the first period, haring about and generally causing concern in the Tottenham ranks. Saw his brilliant volley expertly saved by Friedel before another low drive was tipped clear too.
Always seems to have a good day at White Hart Lane and popped up with the opening goal. Won plenty in the air and showed a good touch. Taken off for Cisse.
Came on after two minutes and impressed at right back. It's been a long time since he played at such a high level for so long and he'll be pleased with his contribution.
Late sub who did his best to haul QPR back into the game.
Came on for Zamora and did what he could to find an equaliser.
