SuperSport United travel to Pretoria University on Wednesday without a few key players due to injury, but will eye victory over Steve Barker's side with a clash against defending league champions Kaizer Chiefs on the horizon.
Both sides have not played a match in two weeks due to the MTN 8 competition and Cavin Johnson will want his side to concentrate on defeating their local rivals before their crunch match against Chiefs three days later.
“We take one game at a time. Hopefully against Tuks, we'll be able to play according to plan and get the three points we are looking for,” Johnson told the press ahead of the Pretoria derby.
“Right now, Tuks is the priority and we'll go there to win the game.”
SuperSport's injury list is growing, with Sahmeeg Doutie, Innocent Mdledle, Bevan Fransman, Sibusiso Zuma and Bennet Chenene all doubts for the match on Wednesday night.
Pretoria University showed that they are a tough nut to crack last season, with Steve Barker's side surprising all with a top 8 finish.
Barker will know all about SuperSport's main attacking threat Mame Niang, with the lanky Senagelese playing for AmaTuks last season.
“We know Mame well and we know what he is capable of. We know what his strengths are and we also perhaps know his weaknesses,” Barker told reporters ahead of the match.
“It's up to us to ensure we don't allow him to dictate terms according to his strengths.
“We definitely will have a plan – not only for Mame as SuperSport have built a really strong team with quality players all round the park, so there are challenges in containing SuperSport.”
