Tuks recorded their first victory of 2013 when they defeated AmaZulu with two goals coming from Bongani Zungu and the other from Mame Niang
Despite Tuks success, AmaZulu showed more hunger as they started attacking from the first minute. Goodman Dlamini opened the scoring for Usuthu in the sixth minute which saw the visitor’s cruising with a 1-0 lead. This goal came from the Tuks goalkeeper’s mistake as he failed to clear the ball and Dlamini punished the error.
The home team kept fighting. In the 14th minute their efforts were rewarded with a goal from Bongani Zungu.
In the second half both teams worked hard. In the 63th minute Mame Niang’s header gave Tuks a 2-1 lead, after being a constant thorn for Usuthu.
Immediately AmaZulu came close to scoring when Goodman Dlamini dribbled defenders inside the box only to shoot wide after all the hard work.
In the 78th minute a deep free kick into the danger zone saw Kapini leaving his line. Zungu came back again with a header that finished off the AmaZulu outfit. Those two goals saw the youngster being named man of the match.
Even then USuthu did not give up fighting. Coach Craig Rosslee brought Bongani Ndulula in to the scene, making his third appearance since joining the KwaZulu-Natal based team.
In the 82nd minute Stanley Katla had another opportunity to equalise but he struck wide.
