Maritzburg United picked up their second win in as many weeks following their 2-0 win over Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Stars received a free-kick as early as the third minute, but a poorly taken set-piece sailed over the bar.
The home team was again on the attacking front as Siyabonga Zulu took a long range shot, but the ball sailed wide off Bongani Mpandle's goal.
Dikwena continued to threaten Maritzburg's goal, this time with a cross curled in from the right, but Mpandle did ever so well to tip it over the bar for a corner.
Despite Peter Butler's team dominating the game in the opening 25 minutes, the Team of Choice slowly started to find their rhythm.
Evans Rusike came close to opening his team's account after been put through on goal, but Zulu recovered well in time to intercept the Zimbabwean's shot that went out for a corner kick.
The start of the second half had Dikwena picking up from where they left off, and came close to breaking the deadlock in the 49th minute after a cross found Thobani Kunene on the far post, only for his header to go inches wide.
The Team of Choice overturned possession and produced the best chance of the game as Rusike unleashed a powerful volley from a clearance, but Mbongeni Mzimela was equal to the task as he pulled off a great save to deny the Maritzburg frontman.
The deadlock was broken 15 minutes from time as Deolin Mekoa pounced on a loose ball from a low cross to slot home past Mzimela's legs and put Maritzburg in front.
Fadlu Davids' side somewhat got inspired by the goal as they kept piling the pressure on the home side.
The pressure eventually paid off in the 89th minute as Siphesihle Ndlovu put Lebohang Maboe through on goal. Maboe made no mistake, slotting the ball past Mzimela to make it 2-0.
In the end Maritzburg did well enough to keep Stars at bay as the clash ended with the Maritzburg outfit walking away with all the points.
