Pirates have pulled a rabbit out of the bag this afternoon, coming from behind on two occasions to win what should be considered as a cup classic. Thanks for joining Goal South Africa for all the action.
It's the captain to win it for Pirates. He SCORES!! Pirates have made it into the semi finals of the MTN 8!
Fransman. He shoots...and scores! Well-taken spot kick by the defender. Pirates can win on the next kick however.
Bacela puts Pirates into the lead with a clean right footed strike! 3-2 to Pirates and now SuperSport has to score.
2-2. September's turn for SuperSport. He misses! His shot strikes the crossbar and does not go over the line according to the referee.
Mahamutsa steps up...and somehow scores! His low strike hits the inside of the left post and sneaks into the back of the net.
Maluleke scores his penalty. 2-1 to SuperSport. Pirates have to score their next spot-kick.
Erasmus responds for Pirates with an accurate penalty. 1-1.
Niang puts SuperSport on the board with a powerful penalty kick!
Jali steps up for Pirates. Williams SAVES! A tired shot from Jali is easy for Williams to save.
SuperSport will take the first penalty. Robin Williams steps up to take it! It's goalkeeper versus goalkeeper and....MEYIWA SAVES! Williams' right footed strike is not well-placed and Meyiwa dives to his left to save.
It will be Meyiwa versus Williams. The Pirates keeper will surely remember his penalty heroics in the Caf Champions League, while Williams is certainly talented enough to win the game for SuperSport.
120' + 1'
That's it! We are going to penalties in Nelspruit. This enthralling match has to be settled somehow and the lottery of the penalty shootout will have to do.
Pirates have the advantage in numbers, but only have one minute to find a winner.
Yellow/Red Sibusiso Khumalo
Khumalo is off! He fells Jele on the right hand side of midfield with a brash challenge and the referee shows him his second yellow of the match.
Pirates players are on the floor and are battling with cramp. They will need to hang on for the next four minutes.
Goal Lennox Luyanda Bacela
GOAL!!! BACELA!! Pirates equalise! Mbuyane receives a pass from Jele and shows a burst of pace followed by a low cross to find Bacela waiting. The striker does no disappoint, smashing his effort into the back of the net, which sparks celebrations inside the stadium.
Khumalo floats a cross towards Niang, who gets his header on target but Meyiwa is able to save with ease.
Time wasting is the order of the day for SuperSport as they look to wind down the last 11 minutes in Mbombela Stadium.
Gabonamong bursts down the middle with a powerful run, eventually getting a shot away which is blocked by Matlaba.
Pirates kick off the second half of extra time! 15 minutes are left for the tiring Buccaneers to equalise for a second time this afternoon.
105' + 1'
SuperSport have taken the lead via Gabonamong, whose low shot in the 94th minute deflected off Lekghwati on the line. The first half of extra time has ended and Pirates have fifteen minutes to provide another comeback.
Goal Mogogi Gabonamong
Yellow Card Sibusiso Khumalo
Thulasizwe Moses Mbuyane
Jabulani Percy Maluleke
Bacela and Nsthumayelo clash when both trying to head the ball towards goal, wasting a good opportunity for Pirates. Seconds later the ball is up the pitch and Niang sends a header into the hands of Meyiwa.
The resulting corner finds Mor Diouf unmarked, but the towering defender heads the ball over the crossbar when he had the goal at his mercy.
KHUMALO! Despite suffering from cramp the winger bursts down the left hand side of midfield and sends a powerful low drive towards the bottom rights corner. Meyiwa has to get down low to his left to turn the ball around the post for a corner.
ERASMUS! Delicious football from Pirates as Jali finds Manyisa with a pinpoint ball. Manyisa's back-heel pass then sets up Erasmus, who drags his shot just wide across the face of goal.
Khumalo looks in trouble after being fouled. He is suffering from a bit of cramp and is being stretchered off the field. These are not good signs for Cavin Johnson as he may be forced to make his final substitute of the match.
Gabomanong has come on for Mathebula to provide some more muscle in the midfield for SuperSport, as Pirates continue to run circles around Matsatsantsa players.
What a a chance for Matlaba. Pirates continue to look menacing and the full back receives a cross at the far post, but can't find the neccessary composure to het a shot on goal. Williams is able to grab the ball from his feet and Roger de Sa looks incensed on the touchline.
Goal Lennox Luyanda Bacela
GOAL!! PIRATES EQUALISE! Bacela scores his first goal for the Buccaneers! Erasmus and Bacela combine and just when it seemed as if Erasmus had lost the ball, Khumalo touches the ball into the path of an onrushing Bacela, who smashes his shot past Williams. Game on in Nelspruit.
PHALA! Meyiwa saves! The winger bursts past Lekgwhati with some good pace, then sends a low drive towards goal which bobbles on the turf making it difficult for Meyiwa to provide a save low to his right.
Kermit Erasmus is warming up for Pirates and is set to replace Sifiso Myeni.
Myeni and Jali combine well, allowing for the winger to send a powerful cross into the box, earning a corner for Pirates. Mahamutsa attempts an audacious effort after being found by Klate's corner kick.
Lekgwati sends Phala flying with a late challenge, but is not cautioned by the referee after apologising to the winger.
Bacela has an early shot on goal, but his effort is low and tame. Williams has not really been tested this afternoon and it's up to Pirates to make his second half far more busy.
SuperSport kick-off the second half in the Mbombela Stadium.
Pirates will be seeking for answers to their current goal drought. Kermit Erasmus is a viable option for the Buccaneers, as he will also be keen to score against his former employers. The second half is almost underway in Nelspruit. Will Pirates provide a comeback this afternoon? Stay tuned to find out.

Half time! SuperSport United may feel lucky to be the lead after Pirates dominated during the first 45. Thabo Matlaba's own goal separates the sides. Join Goal in 15 mins for the second half action. Any half time comments? Tweet me @Dan0090
Two minutes to be added on in this first half. Pirates continue to press for an equaliser but they are being met by firm resistance from SuperSport's defensive force.
SuperSport earn their own free kick but Mathebula's rather comical effort does not end well for the SuperSport midfielder.
Pirates win a free kick in a fantastic position after Myeni tries to run into space and Gyimah fouls him. Klate's effort was heading towards goal, but a vital header from Lentjies blocks the curling strike.
Matlaba's weak back pass almost allows for Niang to pounce, but a desperate clearance from Meyiwa staves off a second goal for SuperSport United.
The game has lost its rhythm as we inch closer to half-time. This is playing into the hands of SuperSport as Pirates are struggling to put together incisive passages of play.
Pirates will need to respond and the pressure is placed squarely on the shoulders of Roger de Sa.
Own Goal Thabo Matlaba
GOAL!! SUPERSPORT UNITED IN THE LEAD! An own goal from Thabo Matlaba gives Matsatsantsa the lead. A long throw from September causes trouble for the Pirates defence, and Matlaba's slight touch dips under the crossbar and over Meyiwa, who was caught in no man's land off his line. Unfortunate goal to give away for the Buccaneers and Meyiwa will need to atone for his mistake.
Sahmeeg Doutie is on the floor and has pulled his hamstring. Thabiso Nkoana will replace the winger.
PHALA!! Meyiwa saves! Great strike from the winger, who tries to curl the ball around Meyiwa, but the in form keeper blocks the shot and Pirates can clear.
Matlaba tries a trademark long range effort. His shot is on target, but does not have the power to beat Williams at his near post.
KLATE!! Off the post! Jali curls in a pinpoint cross onto the head of Klate, whose diving effort strikes the upright before going out for a goal kick. Best chance of the match for Pirates.
Fransman fouls Bacela on the right wing and Klate's free kick is punched away by Williams. It was a good clearance under pressure by the goalkeeper.
Bacela uses his pace to get to a ball provided by Jele, and his cross into the box almost finds Manyisa and Klate. A minute later, Ntshumayelo cracks a long range effort just wide.
Lennox Luyanda Bacela
Mbesuma is up and but Roger de Sa will have to replace the player with Bacela as Tebogo Moli confirms that Mbesuma cannot continue.
Mbesuma and Niang both attempt shots at goal, but their efforts are well blocked by SuperSport defenders. Mbesuma is on the floor after his attempt and seems to have picked up an injury after September collided with the striker after the shot. He is being strechered off the pitch and Lennox Bacela is warming up.
Niang uses his strength to secure possession from Mahamutsa, but his effort after the tackle leaves much to be desired as it soars into the stands. A bad mistake from the Pirates defender to allow Niang to tackle him in a dangerous area.
Pirates obviously feel that SuperSport's full-backs are the weakness as they continue to try and pry open Matsatsantsa's defence down the wings.
Jali fouls Phala down the left flank and SuperSport have a free kick. However, Phala's delivery is poor despite a whole host of options available for the winger.
Myeni finds himself in a bit of space and tries to rifle a volley towards goal, but his effort loops into William's hands. SuperSport respond via a run from Doutie, who almost releases Niang in the box but Mahamutsa recovers well. Electrifying start out there.
Pirates have started strongly and are utilising their strength on the wings, with Sifiso Myeni looking menacing in possession.
Here we go! Pirates kick-off the game. Who will join Kaizer Chiefs, Bidvest Wits and Platinum Stars in the semi-final stage of the MTN 8? Stay tuned to find out!
The players are out on the pitch and we are minutes away from kick-off in the Mbombela Stadium!
In a pre-match interview before the game, Cavin Johnson is confident that his side is prepared for the match today after having studied Pirates' matches against Al Ahly and AmaZulu. Matsatsantsa defeated the Buccaneers 3-0 in last year's MTN 8. Can they repeat that performance this afternoon?
Remember you can tweet me @Dan0090 with any comments about the game. Who do you think will win this afternoon? Kick-off is just under 15 minutes away and the excitement is building within the Mbombela Stadium.
Ronwen Williams looked to have sustained an injury during the warm-up, but substitute goalkeeper Fernandez has confirmed to reporters at the ground that the star goalkeeper will be able to start the match for SuperSport United.
Pirates have decided to start the team which dominated Al Ahly in Egypt just over a week ago, meaning Kermit Erasmus will have to wait on the bench before being unleashed against his former side. A small crowd is in attendance at the Mbombela Stadium, but the fans are certainly making themselves heard.
SuperSport United starting line-up: Williams, Khumalo, Fransman, September, Diouf, Doutie, Lentjies, Gyimah, Niang, Phala, Mathebula
Pirates starting line-up: Meyiwa, Mahamutsa, Lekgwathi, Matlaba, Jele, Manyisa, Ntshumayelo, Jali, Myeni, Klate, Mbesuma
With 30 minutes to go until kick-off in Nelspruit, here are the lineups for this afternoon's match.
