  • Ten minutes to go! I've been excited for soccer games before, but this game is truly spine-tingling.
  • PIrates scored three goals in the first twenty-five minutes during their 3-2 victory last season and Chiefs will be wary of their rivals attacking force which is spearheaded by the likes of Mbesuma and Myeni.
  • Last season, Amakhosi won their home match against Bucs 2-1, but the team in black and white took revenge with a 3-2 win in the return game. Both fixtures were played at Soccer City.
  • The noise and the tumultuous atmosphere inside the FNB Stadium is growing. Many families, friends and work colleagues will stand divided for the next 90 minutes as the Soweto Giants clash.
  • In head-to-head stats, Chiefs have won 64 of the 146 matches played between the two since 1970, with Pirates recording 35 victories in that time. Can Chiefs continue their impressive record this afternoon?
  • Interesting battles on the pitch include Sangweni versus Majoro and Letsholonyane versus Manyisa. Khune and Meyiwa will also be looking to outdo each other in goal.
  • Chiefs: (4-4-2) Khune,Gaxa, Mathoho, Mashamaite, Masilela, Dladla, Katsande, Letsholonyane, Tshabalala, Majoro, Parker
  • Chiefs have named a strong line-up with the likes of Parker, Majoro, Letsholonyane and Tshabalala all on top form.
  • Pirates (4-3-3): Meyiwa, Sangweni, Lekgwathi, Matlaba, Jele, Segolela, Manyisa, Jali, Myeni, Klaite, Mbesuma
  • Collins Mbesuma’s great form seems to have put him ahead of McCarthy on the Pirates starting line-up as Benni will start on the bench. Andile Jali and Siyabonga Sangweni also start after returning from injury.
  • Now for the line-ups! Will Benni be on the starting line-up?
  • Pirates striker Benni Mccarthy is an avowed Chiefs supporters, but netted twice against the AmaKhosi in their last meeting in March, a 3-2 win for Bucs. After recently returning from injury, it will be interesting to see if Roger de Sa decides to start his match-winner today.
  • Fans are pouring into the stadium and will hope to make it to their seats by kick off which is in around 35 minutes time.
  • Pirates will be hoping to improve on a lackluster outing against Chippa United but will be buoyed by their defensive efforts this season, as they have conceded only 7 goals. Roger de Sa’s men have blown hot and cold, but are unbeaten in their last 7 PSL fixtures.
  • Chiefs enter into today’s clash three points above the Buccaneers and firing on all cylinders with nine wins in 13 matches this season. The AmaKhosi’s free-flowing football has seen them score 27 goals at an average of 2 goals a game.
