Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to make it 10 wins out of 10 games when they visit Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday night.

The PSL defending champions conceded just once in their last eight games, and this could be a mountain to climb for the KwaZulu Natal side.

United have collected only seven points from their seven home games this season, but they seem to have turned the corner since arrival of coach Steve Komphela.

Komphela's charges took all three points off AmaTuks away from home last week, and they will be looking for their second home win of the season thus far.

Stuart Baxter's men will also be aiming to restore their 11-point gap at the top of the PSL log, but they will need to be mentally prepared for the tough battle out in Maritzburg.

Kingston Nkhatha definitely be the man to watch from the Soweto giants. The Zimbabwean international has netted three goals in his last two games, and given the opportunity and space, Nkhatha will easily put the ball in the back of the net.

The majority of the fans are interested to see who will fill the left-back position especially now that Kgotso Moleko is suspended for the next two league games.

This is one position Komphela will be planning to expose, and with Bongolwethu Jayiya's confidence sky high after scoring the winner against AmaTuks, Chiefs fans should be worried.

Maritzburg United are placed 14th on the log with 16 points from 16 games while AmaKhosi are at the summit with 39 points from 17 games.

  DID YOU KNOW?
  • Chiefs have not been as good away from home as they are at home, collecting 19 points out of a possible 27.
  • Komphela was sacked as Free State Stars coach after losing to Chiefs late last year.
  • In head-to-head stats, United and Chiefs have met 15 times since 2005 with AmaKhosi winning six compared to the four of Maritzburg United while five matches ended in draws.
  • AmaKhosi have only won twice on the road against Maritzburg in their seven attempts.
  • Chiefs beat United 2-0 in the reverse fixture earlier this season thanks to Knowledge Musona and George Lebese's goals.
