Kaizer Chiefs will look to take a giant step toward defending their league title when they welcome Mpumalanga Black Aces at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Glamour Boys are in danger of losing their top spot to Mamelodi Sundowns, as they are now equal on points with the Brazilians although they have played one game less.
A win over AmaZayoni on Wednesday will guarantee them prizemoney of R1.5 million for finishing top of the Q-3 log, and could be added motivation for the men from Naturena.
On the other hand, Black Aces are still trying to secure a place in next season's MTN 8 and they will be buoyed by their last week's 1-0 victory at Orlando Pirates.
Clive Barker's side will also be looking to get back to winning ways after dropping three vital points at home against Bidvest Wits on Sunday, but AmaKhosi are expected to attack from the word go as they cannot afford to drop more points, with Sundowns breathing heavily down their neck.
It is still unclear whether Knowledge Musona will be fit for this encounter, but Chiefs will look to Bernard Parker for goals.
The Bafana goal poacher hasn't scored for a while now, and he will be aiming to run away from the likes of Edward Manqele, Musona and Sthembiso Ngcobo who are all in the race for the Golden Boot Award at the end of the season.
AmaZayoni will be boosted by the return of striker Mabhuti Khenyeza from suspension. The former Chiefs and Sundowns forward was handed a six-match ban for spitting toward assistant referee Zakhele Siwela and Khenyeza will be hungry to do his best against his former club.
