Kaizer Chiefs will want to show signs of recovery when they host Maritzburg United on Saturday night, in order to move up from ninth spot on the PSL standings.

The defending champions suffered their first loss of the PSL campaign in their last outing, when SuperSport United run rampant to secure a 3-1 win in Pretoria.

The performance levels of Kaizer Chiefs' star-studded squad have not met fans' lofty expectations at the beginning of this season, after the team secured the double in 2012-2013.

The return of Knowledge Musona to the club has seen the striker draw a blank so far, but after his goal against South Africa during the week, the striker will want to continue his form for the club which has placed its trust in his ability.

Maritzburg United have picked up four points from three matches at the beginning of their campaign, and are resting one spot below Chiefs on the PSL standings.

Ernst Middendorp's outfit has struggled to find the back of the net after the sale of star striker Cuthbert Malajila to Mamelodi Sundowns. The Team of Choice has only scored one goal during their first three games of the season.

Middendorp, known for his tactical acumen, will likely instruct his team to try and frustrate Chiefs on Saturday night.
