Bidvest Wits will be hoping to offer Golden Arrows free lessons when they meet at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday at 3:30pm

Wits are coming into this match against Arrows with confidence, since their new coach Clive Barker knows the KwaZulu-Natal style of football, having managed in Durban for years.

Apart from him, his player Sibonelo Gumede hails from the province of KZN and has the potential to torment the home side. The 27-year-old former AmaZulu player told his club website that he is willing to share his insights on Arrows, so that Wits are fully prepared.

“I have worked with Manqoba at the past, so I know what kind of a coach he is. He likes keeping the ball on the ground as he is a strong believer of carpet football,” said Gumede.

Despite this, Gumede said his side is ready and they will be looking to collect the three points at Umlazi.

“We are ready for the match and I believe that our technical team have a solid plan that will help us win the match,” he said.

A player like Sibusiso Vilakazi has a great relationship with Barker and has been in good form. He will be expected to give Arrows hard time. The home side will not be taking the game lightly, but have been struggling to maintain their form lately.

Just like AmaZulu, Arrows have dominated well in their recent matches but struggled to finish off teams. Coach Manqoba Mnqithi did admit his concerns on previous matches, when interviewed by Arrows official website.

“Against Sundowns it was the same because again we controlled the match and we created clear opportunities, but again because of a poor decision from the referee we had to play with 10 men for the better part of the match. At the end we conceded a very soft goal which meant that we had to lose for the second time, a match that we dominated in both halves,” he said.

Bafana cap, Thanduyise Khuboni will be hoping to lead by example as he scored in their previous match and such a performance could be key in a game with fewer goals expected.
