The Local Black Stars must win to make it to the next round of the African Nations Championship in South Africa
The local Black Stars will play Ethiopia in the final Group C game in the ongoing CHAN tournament with Ghana needing a win to make it safe and book a place in the next round regardless of the outcome of the other game.
Games between the two sides have been few with the first encounter between them being on November 26, 1963 at the Accra Sports Stadium where the west Africans beat Ethiopia 2-0 whilst the Walias also beat the Black Stars by the same margin at the Free State Stadium in South Africa in an international friendly.
The Black Stars won their first game against Congo Brazzaville 1-0 before drawing 1-1 with Libya.
Omed Ukri, Manaye Fantu, and Dawit Fikadu are likely to start in attack for the Ethiopians with Adane Girma battling from the midfield to support them as they play for pride.
Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu is likely to make some changes to his line up with the suspension of attacker Yahaya Mohammed. Asiedu Attobrah or Seidu Bancey could be given a run whilst Richard Mpong who has not been in his elements so far could also start from the bench.
The Ghanaians must watch Degu Debebe, a fantastic defender who can play anywhere across the back line and is noted for his ability to move forward and score goals.
The local Black Stars are favourites for the day but they could be punished if they become complacent.
