Celtic who reside in the top eight of the PSL table has done a great job in their domestic league thus far. Although narrowly losing to Sundowns 1-0 earlier this week in their previous league encounter, with Surprise Moriri getting the only goal of the match.

Phunya Sele Sele beat NFD side Witbank Spurs 2-1 which saw them progress to this quarter-final. Spurs gave the PSL side an early scare when Rhulani Manzini put Spurs ahead in the 22nd minute, but his goal was canceled out five minutes later by Musa Nyatama, and Botswana midfielder Mogogi Gabonamong sealed the win in the 75th minute.

Wits are currently third on the PSL table and trail log leaders Sundowns by eight points. They've gone four games unbeaten in the league, and coach Gavin Hunt will surely take that momentum into this Nedbank Cup encounter.

Hunt is no stranger to reaching the Nedbank Cup finals. While in charge of SuperSport United last season, he unfortunately lost 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in the final. However, the season before that, he took Matsatsantsa all the way to glory when they beat Sundowns 2-0 in the final to lift the trophy.

The Clever Boys will not have a walk in the park though, as Siwelele will seek ultimate vengeance after Wits handed them a 3-0 hammering in the quarter-final of the MTN8 cup back in August.

Wits convincingly beat AmaZulu 4-1 in the round of 32 encounter of the Nedbank Cup, with Sthembiso Ngcobo, Papy Faty and Sibusiso Vilakazi getting on the score sheet respectively.
