Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates played to a goalless draw in an Absa Premiership clash at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday night

Both sides were coming off draws in their previous league encounters, Bidvest Wits shared the spoils with Kaizer Chiefs at home, while Orlando Pirates were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Platinum Stars.
Pirates winger Daine Klate's free kick picked out an unmarked but off-side Kermit Erasmus in the tenth minute. Bucs were dominating ball possession in the early stages.
In the 17th minute, Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs was forced to produce two saves denying Bucs forwards Erasmus and Lennox Bacela.
At the other end, Bucs goalie Senzo Meyiwa brilliantly saved Wits wing-back Tebogo Moerane's 35-yard strike just minutes later.
Three minutes before the half hour mark, Meyiwa denied Wits hitman Sthembiso Ngcobo with a reflex save. It was end to end stuff.
The home side could have broke the deadlock eight minutes from half -time. However, striker Ngcobo slipped as he attempted to strike the ball. It was 0-0 at half-time.
The early stages of the second half was very quiet, as both sides struggled to keep possession, leading to no serious attempts on goal.
Another chance for Bucs fell for substitute Sifiso Myeni, bu the wnger headed his attempt wide of the goal posts in the 62nd minute.
Wits midifelder Jabulani Shongwe's powerful strike was brilliantly blocked by Bucs deender Rooi Mahamutsa who put his body on the line in the process, with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Shongwe should have scored the winning goal for the home side on the stroke of full time, but the midielder hit the ball wide of the goal posts.
