Sundowns dismantled a sorry Leopards side on Tuesday night in a free scoring encounter

Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Black Leopards 5-2 in a PSL tie on Tuesday night with Elias Pelembe scoring a brace.

Teko Modise opened the scoring for the visitors with Elias Pelembe and Hlompho Kekana adding two more goals before half time.

Bobe Mongezi put Leopards on the board in the 38th minute, but Nyasha Mushekwi's strike dashed any hopes of a comeback for the relegation threatened home side.

Tiyani Mabunda scored Leopards second before Elias Pelembe finished the goal fest with a second in the 71st minute.

Pelembe fed Teko Modise  with a slick pass as the Sundowns captain chipped the ball over Postnett Omony to make it 1-0 in the 5th minute.

Pelembe then added Sundowns second after latching onto a through ball from Kekana and slotting home in the 10th minute.

The goals did not stop there for Sundowns as Hlompho Kekana unleashed a powerful strike which Omony could not save in order to make it 3-0 to Sundowns in the 28th minute.

Raymond Monama provided Mongezi Bobe with an accurate cross to help put Leopards on the board seven minutes before half time. Bobe headed home from close range, which meant Leopards could entertain thoughts of a possible comeback.

But Nyasha Mushekwi's tap in early in the second half dashed any hopes for the home side, after Omony's blunder allowed for the Sundowns attacker to make it 4-1.

Tiyani Mabunda scored the sixth goal of the encounter in the 59th minute to put Leopards within two goals of the visitors but the encounter was effectively ended when Pelembe scored his second goal after a mesmerising run past three Leopards defenders.

Black Leopards now sit at the foot of the PSL table with 23 points, one point behind Chippa United. The win pushes Sundowns into 10th position with 35 points.
