Black Aces come off a 2-0 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic in their previous domestic league encounter. An away game that saw Siwelele bag two goals in the second half through Lerato Lamola.

However, Clive Barker’s side has had an impressive home record thus far, only losing one game at home to Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the campaign. Amazayoni are currently on an eight game unbeaten home record, and will look to maintain that form with a win this evening.

The home side will be without centre back Mbulelo Mabizela and Sandile Zuke who are both out due to suspension. Though, they will see the return of striker Elliot Khenyeza who missed their previous encounter after picking up the flu.

Platinum Stars come into this match having won their Nedbank Cup round 32 encounter 3-1 against Great North. Allan Freese’s side only lost one of their last five domestic league encounters, a match they narrowly lost 1-0 to AmaTuks.

Dikwena winger Lindokuhle Mbatha will be looking to put on a special performance this evening when he faces his former club, Mbatha netted just one goal for his side in this campaign.

When the two sides met in the first round, the score ended with two goals apiece. Clifford Ngobeni and Dennis Masina scoring for Aces, while Mogakolodi Ngele and Henrico Botes scored for Dikwena. The two clubs faced each other five times since 2009, Stars winning two while Aces only managed one victory.

Stars are currently seventh on the PSL table with 27 points and a win would shift them up one place. Aces are further down on the table in 12th position, a much needed win will boost them to tenth place.

  • Aces picked up 18 points out of a possible 27 points at home
  • Amazayoni only conceded four goals at home this campaign
  • Stars only managed three wins away from home this campaign
  • Dikwena scored a total of 19 goals in their 18 matches played
  • Aces kept five clean sheets in their nine home games
