Top 10 2013 MLS MVP Candidates
1. Marco Di Vaio, Montreal Impact
Di Vaio is the current league leader in goals, and he is doing that for the Eastern Conference's current leader (and current league leader in points per game). His consecutive braces against D.C. and Houston gave him 15 strikes on the season, and the 37-year-old forward's touch of class has been evident all season. The guileful Italian has been flagged for offside an astounding 53 times (the next closest player, Seattle's Eddie Johnson, is at 28), as he has shown repeatedly that he will remain persistent to test opposing back lines. He has also shown that all it takes is one mis-timed step forward by a defender to put him in on goal legally, where he is at his most lethal.
