Like some of the other members in the national team, Andraz Kirm began his playing career at his local side NK Smartno before moving to NK Slovan in 2002. He got his big break when Ljubljana NK Svoboda signed him in 2004.

His consistent performances meant that he soon became an important first team player. He started attracting the attention of bigger Slovenian clubs and he soon signed for first division side NK Domzale in the summer of 2005.

As the year progressed, he managed to cement his place in the starting eleven. Domzale won consecutive titles in 2007 and 2008. Rumours arose about a possible move to Serie A side Chievo Verona, but Kirm remained with Domzale in an attempt to help the team qualify for the group stages of the Champions League. Polish side Wisla Krakow took an interest in him soon after and they made a move for him in July 2009 which went through.

Kirm's first game for the national team was a friendly against Montenegro in August 2007. He has since become an important player and regularly features in the starting line up.
