Valter Birsa (FC Sochaux)
Valter Birsa currently plays for French Ligue 1 team Auxerre and is also a member of the Slovenian national team. At the tender age of 15, he signed schoolboy forms with NK Bilje where he began his playing career.

He then moved to NK Primorje and then ND Gorica when he was 17. By the second season itself, he had established himself as one of the best in the league having banged in 27 goals in that campaign. In 2006, he signed for French club Sochaux.

However, things did not work out too well for him at Sochaux and was consequently loaned out to AJ Auxerre. Auxerre later made the move permanent in January 2009.

Bisra was the youngest player to have the honour of playing for the Slovenian national team. He was only 18 years old when he was drafted in. His first international goal came in a World Cup qualifying match against Poland in 2009, which Slovenia won 3-0.
