Place of Birth:Asnaes

Height:182 cm.

He is one of the most experienced players in the national team with 71 caps under his belt since his debut in November 2001. He represented Denmark at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2004 and is still considered to be one of Denmark's most important players as many feel there is no one good enough to take his place in central midfield. He is an aggressive, but honest player and even though he has a defensive role his vision enables him to go forward and feed his team-mates with superb passes.

Poulsen started his senior career with Danish amateur club Holbaek. FC Copenhagen had noticed his talent and in September 2000 he was invited by them for a trial session. FC Copenhagen liked what they saw and soon after he was offered a contract thereby starting his professional career with one of Denmark's top clubs. His first season was crowned with a Championship medal and he hasn't looked back since. Four years at Schalke 04 followed. He often played in the right back position for the German club, a position he has also filled in the national team if asked to do so.

After two seasons with Sevilla he was snapped up by Juventus prior to the 2008-09 season and he still plays for this club.
