Man Utd consider £50million Varane bid


Manchester United are considering a bid worth £50 million for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, reports the Mirror.

Manager Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster United's defence, with Varane emerging once again on the club's radar.

But Madrid will not let their centre-back go cheap, while Toby Alderweireld and Samuel Umtiti are also on Mourinho's shortlist for the summer window.

The Chile international earns £600,000-per-week, but United are worried he may turn out like Di Maria, who spent a single season at the club under Louis van Gaal.

Chelsea have entered the race to sign in-demand Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, according to the Daily Mirror .

Alderweireld, 29, will enter the final year of his Spurs deal at the end of the season with negotiations over a contract extension having stalled.

Chelsea have reportedly targeted Alderweireld, who has also been linked with Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, with the futures of Gary Cahil and David Luiz uncertain.


'Real-linked Lewy should stay at Bayern'

Real Madrid-linked Robert Lewandowski should stay put at Bayern Munich this summer, according to Xabi Alonso.

Speculation regarding a possible move to Madrid has intensified since Lewandowski changed his agent, teaming up with Pini Zahavi in February .

However, Alonso - who played alongside Lewandowski at Bayern - believes his former team-mate should remain at the Allianz Arena.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone met with Juventus striker Paulo Dybala in the Spanish capital on Monday, according to Radio Marca .

Dybala has spent time in Madrid after being left out of the latest Argentina squad and he met his compatriot Simeone for a meal and chat on Monday evening.

Atletico’s city rivals Real Madrid have previously been linked with a move for Dybala, with the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain also rumoured to be interested.


Griezmann wants future sorted before World Cup

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann wants his future resolved before joining up with France for the World Cup in June, with Barcelona reportedly eager to make a move for him.

Now Barca are favourites to sign Griezmann, amid reports he is their primary target for next season and the striker just wants his future sorted early so he can concentrate on France's World Cup campaign.

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has proposed Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as a candidate to be the club’s next coach, reports Sport Bild .

Jupp Heynckes will leave his interim role at the end of the season and former Bayern midfielder Dietmar Hamann claimed last week that contact had been made with Pochettino .

Salihamidzic has put forward Pochettino’s name in talks with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness, although a deal currently appears unlikely.


Malcom 'dreams' of Bayern move

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a number of top European clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham.

 Madrid to offer €60m for Alisson

Real Madrid are set to make a €60 million offer to land Roma goalkeeper Alisson, according to  Corriere dello Sport.

The 25-year-old has drawn plenty of attention for his performances for the Serie A club this season, with Liverpool reported to be strongly interested.

But the Champions League holders are hoping that a bid of €60m and a five-year contract worth €5m per season will lure Alisson to the Bernabeu.

Arp is one of the brightest prospects in European football and has also attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea following an eye-catching last 12 months.

He is under contract until 2019, with Hamburg keen to agree an extension through to 2023, while Arp wants to wait to see how the team develop under new coach Christian Titz before making a decision on his future.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will give Arsenal another chance to offer him the contract he desires to keep him in north London, according to The Sun.

The 26-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, and he has rejected the Gunners' current offer of a 25 per cent pay cut.

Wilshere is set to depart if Arsenal don't improve their offer but he will give them another chance, as he prefers to stay with Arsene Wenger's side.

Chivas would sell the 24-year-old for between $8 million-$11 million, though the report also says the club is yet to receive an official offer.


Arsenal to make another move for Forsberg

Arsenal will make another move for RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg this summer, according to German football expert Raphael Honigstein, via The Sun.

Appearing on the Totally Football Show podcast, Honigstein claimed the Gunners would make a move for the Sweden international after seeing a bid rejected last summer. 

"He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League," Honigstein said of Forsberg. "He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig.

“I think [Arsenal] will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent."
