Ronny buoyed by win over PKNS, ahead of JDT encounter

Sarawak skipper Ronny Harun was elated by their 3-2 away win over PKNS FC in the Super League, describing it as a timely morale boost ahead of their encounter against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).

"This Tuesday we'll play JDT at home, and we haven't won yet at home (in the league this season). So we are under pressure to produce a win in front of the home fans.

"I hope this afternoon's win (against PKNS) will motivate my teammates ahead of Tuesday's encounter," said the Malaysia international.

Commenting on the win itself, Ronny explained that the key to the victory was in containing the threat of the home side's strikers; Patrick Wleh and Safee Sali.

"Going into the match, we knew the threat posed by Patrick and Safee. Safee has speed and he can take long-range shots, while Patrick times his jumps well.

"So in defence we focused on them, and thank God we won and did what the coach instructed well," said the centre back.

Despite the 33-year old defender's desire to beat JDT at home, the objective seems almost impossible, as the last time the Crocodiles defeated the Southern Tigers at home was back in 2012.
