Andreas Pereira maintains that he wants to prove his worth at Manchester United, with talk of any transfer plans played down.
The 22-year-old midfielder is held in high regard at Old Trafford, but is yet to be offered a regular run in the side.
He was given minutes by Louis van Gaal, and a new contract by Jose Mourinho, but still had to push for a loan switch to Valencia in 2017 after finding himself well down the pecking order.
His temporary employers in Spain are eager to land him on a permanent basis, but Pereira insists he has no intention of leaving United before fulfilling his potential.
The Brazil U-23 international told the South China Morning Post: “Valencia approached my agent and said they want to buy me which is flattering, but it wasn’t like it was reported in the media.
“People said I’d demanded talks with Jose Mourinho when I’ve demanded nothing.
“The Valencia coach speaks with me a lot and we have a good understanding, but as far as I’m concerned I’m still a Manchester United player, with a contract at Old Trafford until 2020 and an ambition to make it at United.
“I’ve never sought to leave United.”
Pereira has made 21 La Liga appearances for Valencia this season, netting one goal and providing three assists.
He also took in 37 outings across all competitions for Grenada in 2016-17, but has graced the United senior side on just 13 occasions to date.
Mourinho has seen enough in him to table fresh terms and there could be more opportunities for him next term, although the Red Devils are already well-stocked for creative midfielders and may be in the market for even more when the summer transfer window swings open.
