Barcelona are ready to launch a fourth offer for Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho which could rise to £138 million, according to Sky Sports.

The report claims the Blaugrana are prepared to bid £101m up front with a further £37m in bonuses for the unsettled Brazil international.

Philippe Coutinho is ready to hold talks with Liverpool after conceding defeat in his efforts to join Barcelona this summer, reports The Independent .

The Brazilian saw a transfer request rejected by Liverpool, who have turned down three bids from Barcelona for the playmaker.

With Liverpool adamant that he is not for sale, Coutinho and his representatives are now planning clear-the-air talks with the club’s key figures, with Barcelona being blamed for putting pressure on the player.

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has verbally agreed to join Liverpool, according to Diario Gol via Daily Mirror .

The Reds have apparently spoken to the Croatia international about a move to Anfield, with the 23-year-old potentially replacing Philippe Coutinho, should he join Barcelona.


LIVERPOOL STILL KEEN ON VAN DIJK

Liverpool are still interested in Virgil van Dijk and are ready to move for the defender if Southampton's stance changes before the end of the transfer window, Liverpool Echo reports.

The Reds were keen to land the £60 million-rated centre-back but publicly ended their interest amid allegations of an illegal approach. Southampton have repeatedly insisted Van Dijk is not for sale.

However, with Southampton closing in on the signing of Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt, the Echo claims Liverpool are ready to pounce if the Saints make it clear they are ready to do business.

Draxler’s future at PSG is uncertain following the world-record signing of Neymar, and he has been linked with Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

However, German champions Bayern are weighing up whether to make a €40 million approach to bring the former Wolfsburg man back to the Bundesliga.


COUTINHO'S BARCA MOVE 'IMPOSSIBLE'

Philippe Coutinho’s entourage believes it is now ‘practically impossible’ for the playmaker to join Barcelona from Liverpool this summer, according to RAC1 via Mundo Deportivo .

Barcelona have seen three bids for the Brazilian turned down by Liverpool , who have insisted Coutinho will not be sold.

And, according to Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague , Barcelona will now withdraw their offer after setting Liverpool a 7pm deadline on Sunday to accept their bid.

The midfielder handed in a transfer request on Friday despite the club stating that he would not leave, with the club instantly rejecting the request. 

An unnamed member of Coutinho's "family" also released a statement saying: “Philippe has tried very hard to find an amicable solution to this situation but to no avail. He has tremendous love for the club and its fans.

“But like Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have pointed out in the past, Liverpool does not let its players leave on amicable terms.”
