Birmingham facing 12-point deduction over transfer

The Championship club paid £2 million to sign Danish defender Kristian Pedersen over the summer while they were under a transfer embargo. 

The Blues were under a ban for breaking financial rules, but believed the signing was allowed due to being under a "soft embargo".

Usmanov not making a move for Charlton

Former Arsenal owner ​Alisher Usmanov is not considering purchasing Charlton Athletic, his spokesman has told CNBC.

Reports in the England media emerged on Thursday evening suggesting the 64-year-old Uzbeki was interested in the League One side.

Stan Kroenke paid Usmanov £600 million ($775m) last month to buy out his stake in the Gunners.

Griezmann explains Barcelona snub

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has explained why he decided to reject Barcelona in the summer.

The France World Cup winner was on Barca's radar but ultimately snubbed interest from the Catalans in favour of remaining with Diego Simeone's side.

And while he admits that rejecting the Liga winners was a difficult decision, he felt that Atleti did "everything" to make him feel good, including the signing of new, "important" players.
