Kerala Blasters head coach David James heaped praise on CK Vineeth and Jackichand Singh for the goals they scored against Pune City in the team's 2-1 win on Friday.
Jackichand opened the scoring in the second half with an excellent goal from outside the box but Emiliano Alfaro scored from the spot to bring Pune level. CK Vineeth scored a stunning goal in added time to clinch three valuable points for Blasters.
"CK Vineeth's goal is special. It was what we needed to beat a very good Pune City side," praised James and joked, "I actually tell them not to shoot from outside the box. They didn't listen to me."
"At 1-1 with seconds left, it looked like a draw which wouldn't be good enough," said the coach. "It was difficult. The opposition was going down quite easily at times. But we had to keep our mental strength."
The former Liverpool goalkeeper also stressed the importance of the upcoming games for Kerala Blasters. "Our task is quite simple, going towards the end of the season - win every game."
Kerala Blasters will be without defender Sandesh Jhingan (who picked up his fourth yellow card against Pune City) as they travel to Kolkata to take on ATK on Thursday (February 8, 2018).
