Amid uncertainty about her future, the goalkeeper has signed on to produce and host a show about rehabilitation from injuries.

Former U.S. national team and Seattle Reign goalkeeper Hope Solo has signed a TV production deal, raising further questions about her soccer future.

Solo has signed on with Nvelop Entertainment as producer and host of the sports medical series “The Cutting Edge," which follows athletes as they rehab from injuries. The first season aired on Fox Sports 1, with a broadcast partner for the upcoming season still to be determined.

The goalkeeper herself underwent shoulder replacement surgery in September.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to work with Brant (Pinvidic) and INvelop Entertainment,” Solo said in a news release. “He is an industry leader that shares my passion for unique story-telling and together we look forward to delivering content that will resonate with not just sports fans but all viewers.”

The 35-year-old was suspended from the national team and had her contract with U.S. Soccer terminated in August after calling the Swedish team "cowards" following the USA's elimination from the Olympics in the quarterfinals.

Following her banishment from the U.S. national team and her hiatus from the Reign, Solo's playing future is unclear. In a recent interview on Showtime's "60 Minutes Sports," however, she expressed optimism about returning to the field.

"The rehab is tough," Solo said. "It's about a two-year full recovery. I’m way ahead of schedule. So I expect to be back and able to perform at a high level within the next year."
