Demba Ba opens Gotzepe goal account in dramatic Osmanlispor draw

Demba Ba scored his first goal for Gotzepe as Osmanlispor held them to a 3-3 in a Turkish Super Lig encounter on Saturday afternoon.

The former Chelsea and Besiktas hitman moved to the Doğanlar Stadium outfit from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua in the just-concluded winter transfer window. And on his full and home debut, he found the back of the net.

Ba got the curtain raiser off a Yoan Gouffran assist in the 23rd minute. The French winger soon register an effort of his own to double the hosts’ lead.

Ozer Hurmaci’s 43rd-minute goal ensured Irfan Buz’s reduced the deficit before the break.

And just before the hour mark, Sokol Cikalleshi - off an assist from Nigeria’s Aminu Umar - levelled proceedings for the visitors. Cikalleshi completed his brace in injury time from the penalty spot to peg the hosts who thought they had secured victory after Andre Castro had restored their lead in the 84th minute.

Ba and Cote d’Ivoire left-back Adama Traore were on parade for the entire duration of the stalemate for Tamer Tuna's side, same as Umar for the visiting side while his compatriot Raheem Lawal was brought at the start of the second half.

In their next Turkish top-flight encounters, Osmanlispor and Goztepe will face Sivasspor and Gençlerbirliği on February 17 and 19 respectively.
