Barcelona reject Roma approach for Munir as Real Sociedad and Alaves circle

Barcelona have rejected a bid from Roma for young striker Munir El-Haddadi, and the club expect further interest from La Liga rivals Alaves and Real Sociedad.

What are the odds on Barca beating Juve?

Goal understands that the Italian team came in with an offer of a one-year loan for Munir that included a purchase option to be exercised in June 2018.

The bid, similar to the deal previously agreed with Everton for Gerard Deulofeu, now back at Camp Nou, was eventually declined by Barca, despite the overtures of Roma's new transfer supremo Monchi.

But Roma are not the only team interested in Munir, who spent last year on loan with Valencia.

Both Alaves and Real Sociedad made similar loan bids for 2017-18, only to be rebuffed.

The 21-year-old forward will be released on one sole condition: if a club comes up with the €25 million at which he is valued by Barcelona.

"We have no offers for any of our players," club sporting director Robert Fernandez signalled on Monday, confirming that none of the enquiries for the youngster have been considered.

Munir, who has scored nine times in his 41 senior appearances for Barca, is under contract with the club until June 2019 and has a buyout fee of €60m.
