Aurier is a dangerous, top-class player - Wenger

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has described Tottenham’s Serge Aurier as a ‘dangerous’ and ‘top-class right back’ ahead of Saturday’s North London derby.

The defender joined Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the summer from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee believed to be £23 million. And after a shaky start to life in England, the former Auxerre man is starting to get to grips.

And with the Gunners’ set to trade tackles with archrivals Spurs in an English Premier League clash, the Frenchman has showered encomium on the fullback.

“He’s a good player who has good power to go forward and is always dangerous,” Wenger told club website.

“He played against us with PSG and overall I think he is a top-class right back.”

Aurier has featured in five English Premier League outings for third-placed Tottenham, and given his competition for the right-back slot with England international Kevin Trippier, the 24-year-old will hope to get the chance to impress further against Arsenal.
