Alvaro Negredo insists he knew nothing about interest from Real Madrid before signing for Valencia on deadline day.
The European champions were linked with a dramatic late swoop for their former player before Valencia ultimately beat the clock to secure a loan signing with a view to a permanent transfer.
"I heard nothing about Madrid. Valencia was the most favorable offer and the one I wanted," Negredo said to reporters at his unveiling. "There was a lot of uncertainty and plenty of nerves throughout the day. But I have a very professional group of people beside me."

Negredo revealed it was an emotional day for his family when he told them he had clinched a move back to La Liga.
"One of them cried when I told them I had signed for Valencia. My father-in-law was a socio but he had to stop coming to the Mestalla because of work commitments," he revealed.
"I have not had to sacrifice anything, because I'm where I want to be. The president and Rufete made a strong commitment to me. I am just another player in the dressing room, and Rufete, Amadeo, Peter Lim and the fans have all been key pieces in pulling this deal off."
The 29-year-old says he felt stunned by his reception upon arrival at the Mestalla and is now determined to repay the fans by helping Valencia back to the top of Spanish football.
"You feel special when they welcome you this way, with this affection. It's a pleasure to be here and we will take Valencia to where the club deserves to be," Negredo added. "We want to build the team, to get the club back on top. The rest has to be done on the pitch and we need to show this every weekend. I know what the city and the people here are all about, and they are one more reason why I wanted to come here.
"Competition will be very healthy and everything is going to be for the good of Valencia. Both Paco Alcacer and Rodrigo can contribute a lot in different positions."
