Carles Puyol in Barca squad for Betis clash

The 35-year-old has not officially been cleared for Saturday's match but still was named to Gerardo Martino's 19-man squad.
Barcelona has named veteran captain Carles Puyol in its squad for Saturday's match against Real Betis at Camp Nou.

The Blaugrana lost center back Gerard Pique to injury during the 1-1 Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid, while the likes of Jordi Alba and Victor Valdes will also be missing.

The 35-year-old has also been suffering from a knee injury and is yet to receive medical clearance to play this weekend, but Barca has included him in its 19-man party.

The team had its final training session Friday morning and Puyol, along with Isaac Cuenca, who has also been suffering with an injury, practiced with his colleagues.

Meanwhile, Barca B keeper Jordi Masip also trained with the first XI regulars, but Oier Olazabal retains his place in the squad as backup for Jose Pinto, who is deputizing for Victor Valdes.
