Gareth Bale: Real Madrid putting pressure on rivals

Los Blancos went on top of La Liga on Saturday and the Welshman feels that their title rivals are feeling the heat.
Gareth Bale gave a confident assessment of Real Madrid's title charge after its 4-2 victory over Villarreal on Saturday saw Los Blancos top La Liga ahead of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The winger scored the opening goal of the game at the Bernabeu as Madrid continued its unbeaten start to 2014.

Reigning champion Barcelona faces a daunting trip to Sevilla on Sunday and the Welshman believes it will be under pressure to produce a good result.

"The most important thing is the victory for the team, but obviously I'm very happy with the goal and putting pressure on our rivals in La Liga," he is quoted as saying by AS. "We're enjoying playing our football and that's very important."

Bale opened the scoring for Madrid, before Karim Benzema netted goals on either side of Jese Rodriguez's strike.
