Sunderland has completed a move for Argentine goalkeeper Oscar Ustari through the end of the season.
The 27-year-old arrives from Almeria on a free transfer after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with the Spanish club earlier Tuesday.
Ustari is Gus Poyet's third signing of the January transfer window after completing deals for Marcos Alonso and Santiago Vergini.
“Although I’ve not had many games, I’ve been very happy here these last six months,” Ustari told UDA Radio. “Almeria is a marvelous city to live in, and I won’t forget it. I’ll leave behind a lot of friends at the club.”
“I want to thank Almeria for everything they’ve offered me, the club, my teammates, the coaching staff, the fans, everyone. I hope and I’m confident that the team will achieve permanence in La Liga, with plenty of games to spare.”
