The Brazil international has hailed his teammate's performance on Wednesday and the efforts of the side as a whole.
The Argentine attacker netted twice to help Barcelona to three points after scoring just once in his previous five games and Neymar believes that his teammate will soon be back to his usual best after Wednesday's boost.
"Messi is a true great, without question the best in the world," Neymar told the official UEFA website. "Even he has to struggle a bit in front of goal occasionally, but now it'll be less and less after these two goals and a good result."
The former Santos star then went on to voice his satisfaction with Barcelona's progress in the opening months of the 2013-14 campaign.
"The team is growing, bit by bit."
Barcelona is one of four teams to have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, with Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City booking their tickets this week as well.
