The former Blaugrana attacker has revealed how he has two disparate feelings for the highly-successful Los Blancos tactician, but that the Portuguese is ultimately his friend.Former Barcelona player Hristo Stoichkov has told of his great admiration for Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho but has also admitted to hating the 'Special One' too.
The 46-year-old Bulgarian, who played for the Catalan side some 177 times during two spells with the club, said he hates the Los Blancos boss due to the bitter historic rivalry between Barca and Los Merengues.
Stoichkov is currently coaching Litex Lovech in the Bulgarian first division, and he was happy to discuss his friendship with the former Chelsea man.
"I greatly admire Mourinho, he's my friend, but he coaches Real Madrid and I have to hate him. Whoever hires Mourinho does so to win straight away, due to his personality, his philosophy and the soccer he plays," he told Radio Marca.
"Wherever he goes, he always wins. Jose Mourinho and I are friends. He was my coach and I’m very fond of him. But he coaches Madrid and I'm Barca through and through," the Bulgarian said.
