thumbnail Hello,

The Barcelona veteran fell awkwardly during his side's clash with Benfica and left the field immediately, sparking concerns he may miss the Clasico against Real Madrid

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol left Wednesday's 2-0 Champions League win over Benfica with a dislocated left elbow that will keep the defender out of this weekend's Clasico against Real Madrid.

In the 77th minute, Puyol took a fall and landed awkwardly on his arm. He was stretchered off the pitch after players from both teams called to the Barcelona sideline for immediate assistance.

Puyol was taken to the hospital in Lisbon and his return is unknown.

The loss of Puyol for extended time would be a major blow to Barcelona's back line, which is already without Gerard Pique due to a foot injury.

Barcelona remains perfect through two Champions League games after cruising past the Portuguese side in matchday two. The club meets rival Real Madrid in La Liga play on Sunday.
