The young midfielder is very pleased with the arrival of the European Championship-winning wing back and is keen to make the next step in his development in 2012-13Thiago Alcantara has taken the time to praise Jordi Alba following his imminent transfer from Valencia to Barcelona.
The Catalan giants announced last week that they have agreed terms with Los Che, and the left-back is expected to sign a five-year deal in the upcoming days.
"I like the signing. He’s always been a Cule and he’s a home-grown footballer, he already knows how we play. He’s fast and very good," Thiago stated at a press conference.
The Spain Under-21 star then went on to discuss his personal ambitions for the 2012-13 campaign, and added that new coach Tito Vilanova is the right man for the job.
"My goal for the new season is to play in more games than last year, enjoy playing with my teammates and to win titles," Alcantara said.
"We all want him to do a good job and lead us to good results. If we maintain our philosophy and if we have confidence in him, we’ll continue winning."
Thiago made 27 La Liga appearances for Barcelona last term, scoring twice.
