Palmeiras boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has declared that Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo would be the best player in the world if it was not for Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Scolari, who coached Portugal from 2003-08, was full of praise for Ronaldo and agreed with the forward's assertion that his talent causes jealousy among the fans.
"Some people do not like him because he is a great player, good-looking and has sex with all the ladies," Scolari told Arena SporTV. "People get jealous. The only bad thing about Ronaldo's life is Messi. If it was not for him, Ronaldo would be the best player in the world for five years in a row.
"He is a great person and a friend. He likes to fool around, but he is a great professional."
The former Chelsea manager went on to say that Portugal can reach the Euro 2012 knockout stages despite the Seleccao having been drawn in the so-called 'Group of Death'.
"Let's hope that Portugal will draw with Germany and beat Denmark," Scolari added. "Netherlands are a side they have defeated in recent matches."
