Karanka follows Mourinho's lead as Real Madrid media blackout continues

Players and staff of the Blancos have decided against speaking to the media once more in the wake of their devastating five-star showing against Philippe Montanier's side.
Real Madrid has again called a media blackout after Saturday's 5-1 victory over La Liga rival Real Sociedad.

The league leader put on a showpiece performance against the Basque club at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Gonzalo Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema all getting their names on the scoresheet, but the club is presumably still upset from the controversy that ensued in last week's 1-1 draw with Villarreal.

Neither assistant coach Aitor Karanka, who sat in the dugout against Sociedad due to the ban imposed on Jose Mourinho, nor any of Madrid's players were present after the match to discuss matters on the field.

Nevertheless, the win sees Los Blancos maintain their six-point lead over Barcelona in the Primera Division standings.
