"The Copa del Rey final should never be at the Bernabeu," the former Besiktas man wrote on Twitter. "Why couldn't Real Madrid play against Zaragoza at Camp Nou [in 1993]?"

"Why do Madrid always have to give?" he added soon afterwards. "We are gentlemen, but at some point we have to think of ourselves and decide because the Bernabeu is ours."

Last season, the competition's final was helf at Mestalla, and was contested by Barcelona and Real Madrid.
