The Cameroonian custodian has put an end to his seven-and-a-half year spell with the Catalans after becoming unhappy with the club's 'lack of ambition' in recent months
Contract: June 2014
Espanyol has announced on its website that goalkeeper Carlos Kameni has agreed to join Malaga on a free transfer.
The two clubs had been locked in talks since Tuesday, with Espanyol director Joan Collet announcing on that day that an agreement in principle had been reached.
Although there is no fee involved in the transfer, news agency EFE claims that Espanyol will still receive some money at the end of the season based on Kameni's performances and Malaga's league finish.
The Cameroon international, joined Espanyol from Le Havre in 2004 and was an ever-present figure at the Liga club, making 222 competitive appearances for the Catalans.
However, the 27-year-old fell out of favor at the end of the last season after criticizing what he perceived to be Espanyol's 'lack of ambition' and did not make a single appearance for Mauricio Pochettino's side this term.
